Monthly Kickstarter: “Mazoku: The Infernal Siege”

Many of you may not know, but SoSoDope is an offshoot of my (soon to exist) blog-help platform Everybody Dreams; the whole purpose of which is to help others get their ideas out into the world. So, I figure what better way to do that than to start doing a monthly Kickstarter feature!?

Starting with Mazoku: The Infernal Siege (Mazoku) is a special treat because I went to school with one of its key creators: Devin Wolfe.

I used to draw a lot more than I do now, and Devin was one of my schoolyard heroes back in the day. He was an upper-classman, and I think we were both good in our own way – but there was something special about the way he’d make his comic book interpretations and self-portraits come to life on paper.

It’s genuinely heartwarming to see that he’s continued honing his craft to give the world Mazoku.

The story, by father/son duo Steven and Devin Wolfe, centers around a band of feudal Japanese warriors from opposing factions coming together against a zombie pandemic.

This is the first offering from the new indie comic imprint Setting Sun Comics, based out of Kansas City, MO. If you back the Kickstarter campaign, which ends Monday – December 7, 2020, you can get a nice selection of things related to the first issue’s release (depending on the tier of your contribution).

I won’t share what SoSoDope will be getting for its contribution, just yet – but, I’ll be sure to post about it once it arrives. I also hope to land an interview with the creator(s) sometime in the near future, so keep your eyes open for that one.

Until then – check out the campaign for Mazoku, and help Devin bring this creative zombie-slashing samurai endeavor to life and reach its funding goal!

Peace, and thanks for reading.
