BeastMaster (1999-2002)
Ok, so I’m definitely kind of cheating here with this one – but I had to mention it because I LOVED the old movies as a kid. The first one came out well before my time, but when I saw it – I loved it! I did that sword-twirl thing all the time! And the second one? Don’t even get me started!
Here’s the synopsis of the character: Imagine Dr. Dolittle with a sword and random beasts. Literally lions, and tigers, and bears (oh my).
Yeah – trippy. This one is obscure, but the world is full of animal lovers (Have you seen “The Dodo” on YouTube? If not, you’re welcome.) – and a great deal of them may enjoy seeing a show with more personable animal companions brought to life.
Yes, the animals would be helping a sword wielding wild-man vanquish evil – but, C’mooooooonnnnnn! Worse things have been put on TV.
I’m just saying to give this a more modern shot. I think Game of Thrones and Harry Potter have really popularized speaking Parseltongue (if you understand that reference, you DEFINITELY belong here & I love you for it).
