This Mansion Makes Me Want to Move to L.A.

I love the West Coast of the U.S., but I’ve never wanted to live in Los Angeles. I don’t know if it was the people or the air quality, but something about the place just didn’t quite pull me in… Until I saw this house. I am not even a person motivated by mansions, but THIS ONE is insane(ly expensive)!! Come tour it with me.

The $55 Million Mansion

Click around through the video to get the gist of the home, but trust me – it’s worth watching every second if that modern/minimalist look is your vibe. This mansion has officially dethroned my previous favorite home tour video.

Diving in a Little Deeper

Here is the website for the listing of the home located at 1301 COLLINGWOOD PL, BIRD STREETS, CA 90069. This monstrous beauty is 5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, 15,642 sq. ft on a 29,279 sq. ft lot. This definitely falls into the category of things I will likely NEVER be able to afford in my life, but if I was a multi-billionaire – I’d buy in a heartbeat the moment I saw the video.

From the site itself…

Designed by Olson Kundig one of the greatest modern architecture firms of our time. Set on a promontory blessed with explosive panoramic views taking flight over Los Angeles. This industrial organic modern inspires & touches all senses of the human spirit. A 6-year project that spared no expense; unbranded organic wood, stone & board formed concrete harmoniously combine to form a masterpiece.

I have a concern about it leading to a “cease and desist” situation, so I won’t place images of the property from the realtor site here – but I do encourage you to click through the images on their site as the shots are GORGEOUS.

The attention to detail and thought that went into this mansion are astounding by my standards, and the conveniences engineered throughout are equal parts simple and breathtakingly appreciated.

What Do You Do With a Home That Size?

Do you regularly throw parties (Great Gatsby style)?

An image of actor Leonardo DiCaprio doing a toast from a mansion party scene in the movie Gatsby.

Do you hold benefits there? Do you go off into seclusion as the new owner of one of the spots with the most enviable view lines in Los Angeles?

My guess?

You do whatever you want to do.

Anyway, curious what you all think of this mansion. Could you see yourself living in that particular property if you were able to buy it and maintain it? Why or why not? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Peace, and thanks for reading.
