It is easy to miss this right now because of the Olympics, but the congressional panel for the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol held its first hearing yesterday (July 27, 2021). I caught this video of the full testimony of Officer Michael Fanone. I wanted to make sure people saw it, and I wanted to say one thing…

My Comment
Look. I don’t know why we’re trying to rewrite history, but the cause of the insurrection attempt that day was clear. Blame it on the outcome of a Presidential Election… ok… People are allowed to be angry and feel how they feel. But at least fess up to, and own, the fact that one man took a volatile situation and used his position and platform to escalate things to something worse to this now historic event that some are steadily attempting to downplay.
We all saw the same news broadcasts that day.
The fact that Donald Trump, our former U.S. President, is even still in any discussions related to U.S. Politics or even allowed to be considered to run again for office is disgusting. My thoughts on the man aside, this one single act, that was done in his name and with his encouragement, should moot all talk of him ever touching the presidency again.
I don’t care about Republicans vs. Democrats. I genuinely don’t. Neither side is angels.
But that guy… That past U.S. President who pushed an unstable group to the point of outrageous action… He is a disgrace and bad for the United States.
