Black Perspectives #10: Meechdoodle (Comic Artist & Illustrator)

The Big Questions

SSD: There are two big questions that I’m asking every interview subject to answer.

First: What does it mean to you to “Be Black” in 2022?

MEECH: For me, being Black in 2022 means showing BLACK excellence as much as I possibly can. Whether it’s me being a great father to my children or a loving husband. And when it comes to my art, I just want to be an example of dope talent that doesn’t necessarily get the spotlight in this industry.

I just wish the world loved us as much as they love our creations.

SSD: Ok, moving on to Numero Dos: As a Black Person in America, what’s one thing that you wish other people knew about your daily experiences?

MEECH: That’s a loaded question honestly. I just want folks to use empathy. Truly respect and appreciate our differences. I love being BLACK and I love BLACK folk so much. I just wish the world loved us as much as they love our creations.
