The Big Questions
SSD: There are two big questions that I’m asking every interview subject to answer.
First: What does it mean to you to “Be Black” in 2022?
DREA: To be black in 2022…Whew, I feel like that’s sort of a loaded question.
The short answer would go something like this: Being bold, going after everything I want, being mindful of the current climate but not allowing the fear of racial injustice, government mandates, sexism, classism, ageism, social stigmas or the opinions of others dictate my ambitions and how I choose to live, grow, and be at peace.
The struggle is chaotic, sometimes messy. I have to do overtime just to sometimes be seen as equal…
But it’s all worth it.

SSD: Ok, moving on to Numero Dos: As a Black Person in America, what’s one thing that you wish other people knew about your daily experiences?
DREA: The struggle is chaotic, sometimes messy. I have to do overtime just to sometimes be seen as equal…
But it’s all worth it.
To be Black is not a curse but the dopest blessing. America bleeds our blood. Some, still jealous and unwilling to change, will try and make things harder – but once you make up your mind to live for yourself and do better, you are truly unstoppable.
